Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Location strategies, eh?

It is 2024, and yet we are supposed to RTO, or even funnier in some cases, relocate whole families for the job which may not exist in a year. I feel like a thrown around sack of potatoes. Yet, we are somehow meant to give all we have for this job, and be motivated as if the rainbows are waiting for us at the other end.

Get a grip people. Business is business. Our predecessors allowed things to happen that put WF in numerous bad situations, which is taking years to overcome. Its unfortunate to say the least and difficult for all involved but WF HAS to make these decisions in order to save the company and ensure its sustainability. It su-ks but its reality! So get real and do what you need to do to take care of yourselves and your family. The sun does not rise and set for WF...

I'm definitely looking to keep tabs in the market and note potential landing spots, but I'm not letting Shart off the hook either. He's going to have to pay. After what he's done, he doesn't deserve to get what he wants.

“ Are you getting forced to move to a “core location”? That’s what’s happening to me”. There are hundreds and possibly soon thousands that would like that option.

@1unu odd that you think none of us are working on it. I will gladly tell my manager to go pound sand if I get an offer that's even remotely similar. However, I will stick around and do as little as possible until that time since I'm expecting a year's worth of paid job search. If I can double-dip, I will.

To those trying to outlast the HYC, time for a reality check. Lots of pressure already on managers to rate people below Meets to encourage attrition and reduce the Bonus pool for 2024. Also, it's easier to fire folks for cause and not pay any severance.

If you've got a decent opportunity, take it...if you haven't been looking, start yesterday since it will take you 3-4 months at a minimum, which will coincide with MidYear reviews.

All the best people that the company valued but had to lay off due to location strategy have been laid off and received severance, 401k match and large bonuses as rewards. Not sure about the outcome for those poor folks who remain.

I'm not giving that POS in NYC what he wants. If he wants me gone, he's gonna have to pay that years worth of severance. He can destroy the company, he has the authority, but he doesn't get to do it for free. I'm holding out for a WF funded early retirement and no amount of stupidity from the ivory tower will change that. F them. They don't deserve my cooperation when it comes to harassing employees until they leave.

no one is being forced to do anything. If you don't like the option(s) being provided by your employer then find a new employer.

Everyone should not go in. Then what? Enough don't go they will rethink the strategy.
