Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Culture is getting worse by the year

T doesn't just have a layoffs problem, but a culture problem as well. This place is becoming more toxic every day. No need to call it dog eat dog-eat-dog world, we are now fully in a man-eat-man world because that's the kind of behavior that is encouraged instead of cooperation and helping each other. It's just one big mess.

Sounds like they are finally getting you to actually work and you are not happy about that.

As everything else, time will prove that RTO idea was stupid idea. Same as buying DTV and Warner Media. Nothing will save this sinking ship. Unless we get rid of the captain.

Anytime a leader says something like "At this point in time, we will do X", or "At this point in time, we will not do X", or, the classic "At this point in time, we have no plans to do (or NOT do) X", they are being 100% truthful. At the time that they're saying those things, they are absolutely correct. However, 5 minutes later is no longer "at this point in time", so they're free to change their mind and completely contradict what was said 5 minutes earlier.

Worse yet, even when they don't include the "at this point in time" qualifier, you can rest assured that it's implied.

culture problem is created by 1d10ts at the top. I'm in Legg org and his view on how to make morale better is to have band segments in his town halls and goofy videos of himself with lame movie themes. Then he says he's being completely "transparent" but his messages change from meeting to meeting so we know they really are lies.

Still have transcript of his "nobody will be forced to relocate "transparent" lie message" because that will be handled by attrition. Months later the story completely shifted and people were given letters last year and many are already gone.

His latest morale boosting activity is telling people how we need to embrace their offshoring effort. What dr-gs is he on that sending jobs out of the country is something employees will be happy about? What a pos he is.

Can you provide actual examples of what you mean, instead of another "the sky is falling" daily post? Who writes this garbage anyway?

AT&T culture is you either spend your days trying not to be violated by your coworkers or you are the violator. AT&T culture is toxic and it’s impossible to just come to work and do your job. I will never forget this disgusting experience.

Yep that’s what happens when you pit everyone against each other in a constant mode of survival.
