Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

AT&T is a complete sh$t show

It is truly amazing how bad off this place is. The profitability is marginal and questionable, the morale is garbage and people just limp along every day looking for hope. Our leader is a disconnected fossilized fake sociopath who hates everyone over 45. It is almost like a microcosm of the political climate with the factions and internal wars. It’s garbage. It could have all been avoided by better leadership. I have worked at companies going out of business with better morale. Just a sh$thole. Fu&k AT&T, their entire C level and all mid levels and front line managers who waste their lives passing down these new directives. .

The paychecks and dividend is not questionable. Getting paid.

AT&T has clearly underperformed for a decade. There are things I don't like about AT&T. AT&T is still very profitable. As a 30+ year employee, AT&T has helped make me - and many others - wealthy by most anybody's standards. I'm grateful!

If you have worked here for many years and have not accumulated wealth, you messed up.

"How does it feel to have destroyed HBO and Warner Brothers?"

You left off AT&T OP. That was the worst of Stephenson's crimes. HBO was a Johnny come lately. Warner Bros. was fluffy entertainment. AT&T was a venerable and yet innovative company that delivered many wonders to the world. The transistor, satellite communications, information theory, all were AT&T inventions. That's what RS and his band of sycophants destroyed.

Ok, but tell us how you really feel?

Seriously, I second this assessment by @OP+1quAE7Hj.

let me add that RTO was nothing less than a slap in the face designed to drive out older staff who had years or decades of successful contributions to their name. "Follow the work" was a thin disguise over "we want you to leave because there are people we can pay much less and pretend we're getting the same work."

Important cover story for swaggering executives who fancied themselves as media titans and movie kings. How does it feel to have destroyed HBO and Warner Brothers?
