Just doing the bare bones minimum to keep things running and then be offloaded. They need to shed as many heads as cheaply as possible before the big sale. It's the best way for C Suite to jettison this dumpster fire with bags of cash. Shareholders and Employees get the shaft.

No one (that is sane) will buy Toxic-T. Certainly not Google, or Elon. They are just not that stupid.
Ratty and Stinky destroyed it with all the debt from their horrible decisions. The only ones that made out are Ratty and the Stink.
Sure, The Stink will sell Toxic-T for a shiny nickle, and the BoD will let them. But there will not be any offers even at that price.
Agree this is a very likely scenario. I’ve worked at many places that sold and can tell you this is what they do beforehand. Cut costs, minimize liabilities, simply maintain what they have or grow revenue/market share if they can. Given mobility is a race to the bottom and wireline is very expensive to grow. My guess they are trying to sell to a Google or Amazon. There’s an option Elon might buy also as he’s trying to get into the market.
