Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Catherine cancels a customer's line

Stumbled across this gem:

https://www.reddit.com/r/ATT/comments/18x0rvx/worst_customer_service_ever/

Takes 1 fu--ing HOUR to cancel a single line because the obvious offshore worker has to regurgitate their script about worthless offers. Now the customer is pi---d off and wants to leave the service entirely.

How can this company possibly save themselves when they are intentionally sabotaging their own business.

This is embarrassing.

American worker would have accidentally disconnected the call.

An American worker would have never got the call.

Just port the number out to Spectrum or Xfinity. Super easy and barely an inconvenience to go into their stores and cancel a line. Just tell them you're moving out of their service area.

In 2005 an area VP from Chicago told us in a meeting that “ customers need to learn and understand that there are millions of them out there”.

No need to be concerned about customers that leave unhappy.

It only takes about 45 seconds for hr to read a script that you have been cancelled.

Well back in the days, Reps in COR stores could take care of the customers needs! Dallas has taken that all away! It’s a Dailey occurrence to see customers on phone in store calling to cancel services etc and see them curse and more because of the call centers language barriers and more! AT&T expects the COR store to handle the issues however they took that away!

First.

Just kidding.

First mistake was engaging in business with AT&T.

You went to the ATT store? They only sell new service. The customer service counter has been gone for years.

It took me 4 months to attempt to cancel the line of a deceased relative. 5 trips to the ATT store. 7 president escalations. Finally said f it and paid it. I know I should not have but I could not take anymore. Not making it up
