Corporate Neglect: A Tale of Toxicity and Tragedy at HCE

The utter disregard and negligence at this company is appalling. Ignoring their defense contracts, there’s a complete lack of a coherent development strategy in many key areas I've seen. The situation hit rock bottom in the midst of COVID when a colleague tragically took their own life. The response from HR and senior management was nothing short of a disgrace, offering mere lip service about self-care in town halls instead of implementing genuine reforms to safeguard employee well-being. Their indifference to our physical and mental health was blatant. It was an absolutely toxic workplace, the worst I've ever endured. Leaving there was a relief, but the scars ran deep - it took me four agonizing months of mental health therapy to begin healing from the years spent in that harmful, toxic environment at HCE.

A new strain of extremely nasty, inhumane empty suits dominates many corporations today.

The executive class at Honeywell are all malignant narcissists. The ONLY thing they care about is $, power, and themselves. That’s it.
You are in an abusive relationship with a malignant narcissist if you’re not part of that class and work at Honeywell. I suggest everyone who is not part of the executive club get themselves educated on abusive relationships with malignant narcissists and how to successfully navigate and sever that relationship.

@2ngu+1qkd8l35 It has been the biggest mistake of my life. I dragged my family here thinking it would be a huge career move, it is a living he-l and with the kids now settled in their schools and the like I feel horribly trapped.

Those who hitched their wagon to BadSmell have always regretted their mistake.

That's HON period. Beloved employee took their own life in Aero a number of years ago during outsourcing of jobs. At HON, it's all about getting the job done so that upper management gets its bonus. That's about it. No soul.

The toxicity within HCE started at the very top with the original CEO. While that person is long gone, much of the management who exhibited similar behaviors remain, and to me, it’s abundantly clear that culture change is not in the list of priorities. The lack of financial transparency enables these managers to continue presenting a rosy picture of everything going on with no accountability.

I worked at a Honeywell plant where people took their lives due to being over worked. They did this final act at work. Brought on by the profit machine that is HW.

This is a great description of what’s going on in what was once an outstanding organization. I got canned during the early days of Covid - after 40 years of loyal service (earning the prestigious Lund Award, the Chairman’s Award along with other recognition throughout my career.

Who’s kidding who, this is not Honeywell anymore. The cultural shift started after Allied effectively acquired Honeywell. It has been difficult to witness and will make a great Harvard case study someday.

Fortunately I was able to find employment, even in the latter stages of my career, with a competitor and today I’m completely energized and only feel bad for those colleagues I left behind but still harbour I’ll feelings for senior leadership, including the incompetent HR cronies that gave me no support.

I would encourage anyone there to move on as soon as you can and get back to a better life away from that environment.
