I know right? Why would someone actually want to socialize? What a bunch of turds.

"Some people actually want to go out after work instead, and I cannot understand why anyone would want to do that."

Probably the newbies to the work world. They want RTO, social activities and happy hour so they can hang and b**tch about why they don't make 200K a year because they have a degree.

Every year we are allotted $25 per person. We have a luncheon. Some people actually want to go out after work instead, and I cannot understand why anyone would want to do that.

Fine with me. Like Charlie himself introduced and has emphasized, we’re employees, not associates or team members. I’m just here for the money and benefits—not food days, lucite cubes, etc.

Technology is the only group I know that had end of year events in main hubs. Mainly Dave and Buster’s , SF had it drinks but hardly any food. Oh well it could be worse I suppose.

We had ours but I did not attend. It was held at a fancy place with all of the bells and whistles.

There was a bay area holiday gathering for CSBB marketing. Are you in a different LOB?

there is no 'allotment' of funds for holiday parties. it has to come out of the existing T&E budget that a manager has, subject to a cap on $ per person that is imposed by corporate policy.

If there's no T&E money left - no holiday party. my group spent their T&E budget on business travel... so no holiday party.

T&E budgets have gotten smaller every year and are cut again next year.

Who wants to spend an extra minute at WF? The people that want to get together will get together on their own without a lunch

Not every hub or LOB rec'd budget for holiday get together, no matter how small/inexpensive.

So much for equality and inclusiveness.

Hypocrisy is woven into the fabric of this company.

@ruq+1qe3jzUA in that case as in past years you were allowed to expense your choice of lunch.

Kind of hard to have a meet up when my entire team is WFH and spread across seven states...

Working 5 years here. I have never had a teambuilding or any celebration.

Marketing in Concord had their gathering taken away bc "budget too tight". Clear indication it's not a hub of any kind.

It's obvious Chuck doesn't like CA. Funny, since he sure did when he was at Visa.

there's a limit set per person at corporate level, how it gets done in each lob is at their discretion.
