Check workday to make sure you’re not shorted. Input December 31, 2024 and see if it is correct!

I’m in Minnesota and I contacted HR. I was shorted 22 hours on vacation time and in 2024 Minnesota gets 48 hours of sick time now, so that would be a different bucket.

Put in 12/30/24 instead. Mine was messed up to using 12/31/24. Wells has terrible technology.

yes, the sick time buckets is for tracking only to comply with state and local laws and protect you if needed. How it shows up on workday confuses the heck out of even the smartest of people. End of day, you don't get any extra days off. If you use the 72 hours they allocate each year then you will see 72 hours subtracted from your accrued PTO bucket.

Sick time is supposed to come from your PTO in California
It’s not a separate bucket of time you get on top of your PTO

It’s tracked separately because using time off as sick time protects you from certain implications. Like if you have a lot of unscheduled absences, if they are PTO you can get put on warning but if they are sick time you cannot be disciplined for unscheduled absence.

what state do you live in? If one like California where they totally messed up sick time reporting/tracking making it confusing as he-l. If you use sick time it will subtract from your accrued pto bucket so that may be why it looks off.
