Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

It is funny, or ironic - maybe even pathetic or at least some kind of a joke - that so many of us want to be laid off. Most of us know that sooner or later we'll get the termination package because each component or piece of our work is being automated or outsourced to cheaper labor. Meanwhile we simply continue our easy jobs getting paid well while enjoying nice vacation time and paid holidays - and taking as much paid time off as possible without getting fired - all along laughing about it. Most of us who do come to work just hang out and take it easy knowing we're here until they pay us to leave.

We each cannot take work $chitt too serious nor can we let work stress us out, make us unhealthy or lose any sleep. It's not worth it. Yes we each need the income and benefits but not any loss of living. In the end, the company is meaningless.

do as little as possible and get paid! why not, this company is toxic and has zero leadership. a bunch of drones following a really poor leader.

This is a product of a company that has no loyalty to it's employees. If the company would show loyalty to its employees, they would go the extra mile and take pride in the company. Leadership at AT&T is the laughing stock of business.

It’s easy for me because I know all the systems. It won’t be easy, good or cheap to outsource it or automate it if even possible. Honestly we have a lot of old equipment that still needs maintenance and troubleshooting. So when they replace all the equipment then they can start paying severance. They have spent themselves into a corner without replacing the old atm equipment. The company still runs on ds0’s for monitoring their own stuff. They look at the cost of automation and how many jobs it will save. The numbers are not always there so they will just continue to take away your support people.
