Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

My experience at Honeywell

I’ve been working at Honeywell for over a decade, closer to two decades. It’s gotten progressively worse every single year. Every year they find a way to take things away, benefits, holidays, etc.

However, what I’m witnessing now is an entirely new level of messed up. They’re taking formally knowledgeable departments and absolutely decimating the people in them. I mean, it’s BRUTAL. If they come across a problem that doesn’t jive with what they want- they just pretend what they want is reality and proceed accordingly. Customers will lose. The few knowledgeable workers left will either be driven out (I see them trying to drive people out in mass now, that’s really ramped up by a lot) or removed.

Not sure what the end game is here, but for sure it won’t be good for customers, or employees. Me? I’m working on getting out ASAP. Life is too short.

I am a veteran of the ORIGINAL Honeywell. I worked there from 1972 to 2013. Once Allied Signal took over, it was chaos. Program after program, gimmick after gimmick, take away after take away. And for what? Short term profit and manager's incentive package. Our local office had 50+ people when I started, and was highly successful. When I left, there were 6 people, and no sales force. I held on until I could retire, and haven't missed the place one bit.

If Honeywell can take something from you and not lose you, they will. An old Honeyweller told me that Honeywell considers employees as a last resort ATM to make their numbers. Now that I am an old Honeyweller, I see that what he said was 100% true. This company is the worst and more corrupt than I could've imagined. Get out, but not before taking some severance. This company needs to pay in so many ways

Post ID: @2wjk+1q2dAVjr - could not have said it better myself!! Sad but true, and unfortunately I myself had no idea until my number was unexpectedly up - for those still holding on, better safe than sorry (u have to ask urself, what is the ultimate goal, how do we ever come back from this?)

No one is safe at HW I was RIF’d last year after 29 yrs of dedicated support for this company. Make sure if you’re still employed- get your work life balance in order. HW will push you as hard as they can. There’s no point working 10+ hr days, cause when it suits them your just a number.

They should be avoided at all cost. They are the employer of last resort.

@1kmd+1q2dAVjr cancers like Vomitwell will throw you under the bus without batting an eyelash. If a managerial stooge doesn't like your face or regards you as a threat you will be unceremoniously removed with the full backing of the HR stenchmen.

Few survive until age 50 in the hole, unless they are sycophants of the managerial clique. They attempt to recruit the younger dupes and the recently-immigrated who feel exalted to be associated with the old-school failed name.

As a complete outsider I heard about what is going on at HW and I'm astounded! Reading it here blows my mind! I can't believe the management. I feel sorry for the employees. Twenty, thirty, forty, years ago this would've been unimaginable. Where did our values go?

A British guy in our team moved his whole life to America after they closed his office in UK, signed a rental contract, bought a new car, all that jazz. He was in a lay off 6 months later. No support what so ever, not even a flight back to his home country. Imagine how evil this company is.

Trust me, my decades long story would make many realize the priority is not in the future. I wish I left many years sooner.

Honeywell is one of the worst, if not THE worst, when it comes to sc-mmy practices and employee abuse. The management on all levels is psychopathic. Had I known what I know now before I took a job here? I’d have made a hard pass and went elsewhere. Also, the longer you work here? The worse they treat you. Unless you’re a psychopath manager. HR is pretty psychopathic too. They enable the abuse.

401k vesting period is 3 years from your start date. Once you have got your 3 years in you have to wait until December 15th each year to bank that years 401k match. Its a disgusting scam of a system, US is the only developed country in the world that allows such abuse of employees amongst countless other sc-mmy practices.

Well - I got canned after 41 years of dedicated service. It was very difficult for me at the time but the last 5 years had become increasingly tough. I have no idea what the plan is for a company that once was everything to me. I have no faith in the leadership and the only thing I care about now are my friends there that will soon be canned. What a horrible group of clowns - CEO right on down to those toxic HR cronies.
