CAs get very little attention anymore, maybe a mention on the webpage. Awardees get like $20k and a meal with executives. My guess is that CAs will disappear once EB takes over.

I don’t have a single Chairman Award displayed in my office and can be very proud of that.

CAs are now just to "prove" how diverse and inclusive Chevron is. It's been a long time since anyone who actually impacted the bottom line has won one. I challenge you to find a single oil finder in the archives of CA.

CAs have as much value as being named a Chevron Fellow. Nobody remembers any of the winners a year later.

The CA is a gimmick inherited from Texaco at the merger. Most managers openly mock it. MW has said he will approve any serious nomination so all sorts of nonsense goes through. There have been a lot of ridiculous ones.

Like previously commented, the prestige and worth of getting a Chairman Award has been watered down through the last 10 or 15 years. It is supposed to be the highest award Chevron can bestow, but just like many of its policies and good practices, the award has been compromised over the years. Call the Chairman Award another DEI tool or whatever, it certainly does not mean what it used to.

A friend at the corporate office has access to the storage room that contains a number of bixes, each with dozens of blank Chairman Awards. I’ve already had two taken to my local engraving business in the mall over the years and proudly display them in my office at home.

If you have to ask, you're not under consideration.

Let me know if any of the past CA awardees' names come to mind. A few years ago, the tax team was given a CA for finding tax loopholes Chevron could exploit. Such role models! Strictly a beauty contest, now being used as a DEI tool.

Historically, a large percentage of projects initially awarded the CA, later turned into disasters. The list is long. The award seems to be a curse.
