Unpaid time off

Clarification on unpaid time off. Was told by my old GM that there was no unpaid time off. If you didn’t have enough pto to cover your request you couldn’t take unpaid time off. We now have a guy in our department who has only been with the company a year and a half, requesting and getting approved for, all kinds of unpaid time off and getting approved. New Gm, new Coaches. Anyone having similar issues?

Your GM is a liar! But that’s their thing. They all lie!

I take unpaid all the time to see the doctor, dentist, and labs.

I’ve requested 18 unpaid days off throughout the year and they were all approved.
I’ll make-up earning my max PTO/PPTO hours with overtime and by using the PTO hours that I have available for Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years (the max PTO hrs that you can use for 1 day is 12)

If we cannot request unpaid time off than why is that a choice? When they wanted to cut hours is when I took’em
