Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

WAVE, VDI, etc.

This is the C suite throwing its hands in the air and saying "Fine, we give up. We hereby acknowledge that no matter how much money we spend, and no matter who we hire, we just can't figure out how to distribute and maintain...laptops."

Sorryass company.

Wave is $hit...........every F'ing day its up and down. The team responsible for rolling this out should be fired, pure and simple. Takes 10 minutes or more to get on every day from the time you press the power button.

What a catastrophic failure and insight into the WFB leadership team.....they don't give a $hit.....just fall forward...incompetence.

I know I am one of the few but it works great for me. No issues running it from the corp laptop. No issues running it from personal Mac (actually get logged in faster this way). No issues using the hubs in the office either so I don't have to carry a laptop to work. I don't plan on giving up my corp laptop yet but if I continue to not have issues I probably will.

This is Hudson Yards vision for the future ..

...but with no partition walls or assigned seating this go around. 20th century here we come! 😐 These people are shockingly bad at their jobs and CPG is even worse, constantly chasing hip trends and wasting billions that could be better spent elsewhere.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm looking forward to VDI. Built in excuse to not get anything done when I don't want to. It will be such a POS that the company will likely backtrack after this failed leadership group moves on to another victim.

@mqj Have you been on the weekly VDI office hours calls? The questions and comments definitely say otherwise. It's like a Windows 95 convention.

This project was redlighted over and over again due to major gaps/issues. Every single time overridden by leadership. We all shook our heads, bracing for the worst. And it's coming true.

This implementation was a disaster. You should have seen all the critical security vulnerabilities.

Ugh...left in large part to frustration with supporting clueless managers qin that organization, LB and AI. Sadly not surprised at how that all is turning out.

WXPS is severely mismanaged and has turned its employees into even more shallower examples of what it means to be a technology professional than ever before.

Day-to-day interactions are fragmented and void of any depth. We are subjected to the whims of leadership and their pointless fear mongering despite being X times removed from reality on the ground.

The poor quality of WAVE and VDI is a direct result of Leo. His managers are afraid to speak up and do something about it because visibility is bad these days.

Embarrassing and there is nothing anyone can do but quit. Great company to work at.

Takes me up to 25 minutes and multiple reboots to log in to VDI. The lag time typing is absolutely ridiculous. And don’t get me started on the laptop running a VDI still has to get security patches. The one real benefit to a user was to not have to endure the sometimes multiple reboots during the day. Nope. Still happens. Just a d-mb “cost cutting” idea like outsourcing MyIT. Help desk used to be bad but you could at least have a conversation. Now they are unhelpful, don’t know where to go, put you on hold, then direct you to processes that don’t exist as they migrated to MyIT and didn’t bother to build it into their “playbook.”

I wish my VDI wasn't turning into a slideshow. It used to only be issues staying connected to VDI but now it's also constant issues with VDI's connection to other cloud apps. Now is close to being a slideshow, internally hosted apps are a slideshow. Teams is a disaster with people joining calls, then dropping since you can't just join a chat.

The technology failure of WF is somehow accelerating by updating to modern standards.

Luddites? Gawd, how old are you?? 90??? BTW, they were opposed to things replacing their skilled labor. If someone is using a laptop, they certainly aren’t opposed to technology and I wouldn’t call saving to desktop their version of skilled labor. What a good, little sheep you are for being on board with this WAVE atrocity. BAAAAHH!

OR... It's a drain on resources for tech support to help all the old luddites figure out how to update their laptops and tell them not to store all their files on their desktop.
