The rumor in Kentucky is that wellcare has stopped paying claims and several providers lost par status after being accused of ordering unnecessary tests. The big rumor is that one of the largest conglomerates has decided not to accept wellcare. Provider abrasion is at an all time high in the KY market. Centene exited the KY market when they were Kentucky Spirit and didn't bat an eye at paying the fines for breaking their contract. Are they doing a repeat of that same strategy? Who knows.

Wellcare never pays claims. Provider billing error!!
Providers bilk insurance companies all the time. We also have a habit of paying out of network claims without checking. If anything we are lenient compared to United.
