AT&Tto give GM cash bonus

How wonderful that the GMs are going to get a cash bonus for enduring the cr-ppy stock price and doing such a bang up job downsizing the workforce of level 1 & 2 managers…bonus starts at around 30k for a level 3 and higher for level 4 and 5! What a joke this is and a travesty to give out this kind of cash awards for such terrible results and even worse leadership! But hey kudos to the GMs and congrats on that money! Savor it and maybe pay tribute to all those that lost their jobs off of bogus RTO! Where is the board of directors to shut this leadership down?

bonuses have actually helped ki-l this company. from the fixed wireless debacle to denying business fiber if over 1000 ft from the main fiber run.

It is such a bizarre culture and backward way to run a company. Your workers and colleagues get laid off to cut costs, and those that remain get bonuses to stay. This has been going on year after year.

I'm literally wasting all my tech skills putting together decks and charts that I have to endlessly rewrite for different levels of management. Actual results and achievement do not matter. Eye catching charts showing a thing turning green is the only metric of success.

Someone commented on the structure of AVP, VP, SVP, EVP. It is frustrating. As a staff person I put together a monthly PowerPoint deck for my Director. It goes through many meetings and edits to go to the AVP. It then gets modified several times to go to the SVP. Then someone else aggregates all the data for the EVP. I should not complain it is a job and everyone has their opinion on the edits.

Span of Control is a joke. Most of the L3's just have IC L2's that should report to L2 Area Manager (ACE ORG) report to them to get their numbers. There're WAY too many L3's sitting around doing nothing. Even better, you report to another L2 Area Manager, and they have no control over your day-to-day duties. You are just there to give them HC numbers for Span of Control. Can we say, just fudging the numbers to collect a paycheck.

What happened to "take care of stock holders" (who may have just bought the stock yesterday) or "paying down the debt"

We were told to think of million dollar ideas to save T. How about NO bonuses for L3 and above.

Back when Donovan was spewing his “span of control” nonsense, L3+ quickly padded their teams with do-nothings. Directors with 4 direct reports added 6 staff to get to 10. They didn’t do any additional work, they just added heads to maintain the Director pay. AVPs don’t question those moves because again, they’d lose their AVP title. At the GM level, they are foolish. They allow the AVP and Directors to have bloated staffing because they don’t want to lose their spans. As you might guess, the “entrepreneurial spirit” cannot take root when leaders are managing to headcount solely to protect their paychecks. This is such a sad, sad place. And to think we used to make money instead of PowerPoints…

Someday, and I don't know when...."someone", and that someone will have to have come in externally, will look at the whole AVP, VP, SVP, EVP f*4&ing nonsense and clean house.

It is beyond ridiculous and unnecessary.
