Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Do Aero VPs not move around every couple years anymore?

It wasn't long ago that at the VP and President level, people would move around every 3 years or so. If someone at that level was in a position for four or more years, it would be considered an oddity.

Now? It appears like the upper ranks have ossified, with VPs and Presidents in their same position for 4, 5, and in some cases, 6 years.

Given all the turmoil in Aero of the past several years, I have to wonder if there was something scheduled (merger, spin off, etc) a couple years ago that has been delayed. And everyone is marking time until they cross that finish line.

Or maybe I'm just missing something.

Well, VP and Presidents aren't supposed to be moving less those that aren't suited to that role. They are to provide pillars for an organisation to function well. Results are primarily what keeps or not keep those people where they are.
