What’s the incentive to go above and beyond if problem BUs can destroy our CIP? My BU is performing above expectations, but we’re already having expectations managed on CIP. Shouldn’t management be rewarding BUs that performing, rather than punishing all BUs uniformly? This type of reinforcement is known not to produce results. It’s basically “blame and punish”. Wanna see better health and safety performance? REWARD the BUs who are succeeding.

What’s truly sad is this is just an obvious ploy to try to offset the issues in TCO. Need to find extra OpEx savings because TCO? Cut bonuses for everyone (yes they count toward opex). Easier than actually becoming more efficient. Share holders are happy for a few days.
It just proves again that management isn't concerned about you. Their bonus and compensation is all that matters. If you stand in their way, you will be dealt with. Otherwise, sit down, shut up and keep your head down. The axe man cometh.

That’s how they used to do it (remember BU factor in the CIP award formula?). Nowadays it’s all about winning or losing as one team.
