Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

preparing for layoff

like many of you, I know the notice could be any day now. given that Wells cut off your access within hours, I wonder if anyone could give suggestions in preparation for such event. one thing someone shared was saving your contacts and any personal data you may have saved on laptop.

“A disinfo op” lol

Trust me, the powers that be do not need to launch clandestine operations to keep people like you confused.

Yeah, it's all part of the disinfo op to keep people in the dark and scared. If it was assigned seating you might notice Ron was no longer in his cube. That's too easy and transparent. They want you scurrying around, a little lost, and a lot confused. Easier to control that way, and definitely higher attrition rates as people throw up their hands and just give up.

Isn't that why you are in a temporary "cube"? Do not get cozy and think you will be staying....you are not.

Someone already mentioned, but definitely get all review and bonus information saved to a personal computer. I will add, also make note of metrics in all positions.

I was laid off and have no access to any performance/metric information and I am being advised to put that on my resume so I am SOL. I have also slotted for jobs that want my most recent review.

Having a list of references or network contacts that can help you get work on your own PC is a good idea, but other than that the best way to prep for a layoff is to create a list of things you can do to cut expenses, and save as much $ as you possibly can.

Have an email letting colleagues, WF friends & old acquaintances that you have been laid off. Also have the list of people that you want to send it to.
Also make sure you can access Teamworks from home.
You should already have access to Empower’s app so you can rollover your 401K to another financial service company.

Make sure you are able to access your 401k through your personal computer. Take screenshots of all account numbers, phone numbers, contact information, etc. You will want to roll it over and that will be easier with the info at your fingertips.

  1. Copy & paste links and contacts into Word doc and print (if you don't have the ability to email it to yourself).
  1. Prepare an out of office message with the information with which your colleagues can contact you so you can turn it on quickly before they revoke access. Seeing my colleagues disappear suddenly and not having a way to contact them has been really sad.

Good luck everyone!

Teamworks at home seems to require rsa authentication after signing on. How could you sign on after your notice

When i got locked out, i just reset my password and was able to get back in. Maybe that’s why CISO left. smh

Keep checking different websites - the obscure ones. There are still ones that are not blocked and can upload. Especially check the SAS ones. hint hint..

Good luck folks…

Make sure you have copies of all your reviews and bonus history.

teamworks from home setup is the #1 thing. at 1pm on your notice day that becomes the only way to apply for WF jobs or do anything else eg check paystubs etc. that and make sure you go through your emails/contacts and ensure you have personal contact info for and get linkedin with anyone you want to keep a network alive with later.

Novel thought but you could write the contact info down? Or copy & paste info to a word doc, print then delete the doc. This isn’t rocket science

You can email anything you want as long as it doesn’t contain something that looks like a social security number or strings of text that mimic wells proprietary information. Text files for sure work and I believe word docs, etc. but ics and vCards work. Just send truly personal info and you’ll face no legal action. Just remember that IP is not personal data.

I send junk home all the time. Even emails that have that string at the bottom along the lines of “for internal use only”, just delete it and it goes out just fine. No I’m not sending sensitive info off-net, it is mundane garbage that gets that tag that is related to employee discount or benefit, etc.

In my experience, there is no way to get ANY data off your corporate laptop and email it to your personal email account or save it to any type of external device. Wells started blocking all these methods years ago. Sorry...

I would make sure you have teamwork from home all set up to sign in on your personal computer.
