H1b visa is to displace older American workers. 30 is the corporate's preference. 40 is the new 50. 50 is hard to find a job.

H1B workers will more easily drink the poison so they can stay in the country. Fact not fiction. US workers and the country are getting fuuuucked by corp greed.
@jel+1pDOHuOE, the salary of these H1B jobs are showing more than $150K. Is that accurate? If so, WF is not saving much money by bringing in H1B workers.
@xre here, planned retirement in q1 of 2024, but the layoff $$$ are much preferred. Might stay retired or get some relevant training and find a challenging position later on in 2024.

@oiq don't you keep up with the news? People aren't leaving jobs and hiring domestically has fallen off a cliff. The great resignation is over but it was mainly low level jobs. CEOs are complaining about the lack of turnover now.
Personally, I've applied for more jobs this year than in the past decade. It's crickets. Businesses aren't hiring people for career growth, it's all about trying to pay people less.
