Health Insurance after RIF

I am preparing myself to be rif'd with the next round. Is health insurance included in the Supplemental plan?

By law, COBRA can only be 102% of the cost. The extra 2% is for administration costs. That is not the amount the comes out of a regular paycheck. COBRA is only good for 18 months.

@1eeq+1p6GtSrd You are giving "fake news". Yes health insurance benefits are included during the SUP period.

Yes, you will receive health insurance until the severance period is over. But don't forget your reduced premiums may not be included in your next position.

We usually sponsor H-1B visa for the age of the workers. Consultant companies use it for the costs.

I took a look at the H1B visas article (thank you for the link!) and I think the list is a mixture of new hires and continuing employment for those already in the H1B visa status in the company. If the latter I am wondering if they are in their 3-year renewal cycle. Which means that every year there is a slew of H1Bs renewing.

I was surprised by the salaries offered. I thought the purpose of H1B was to get lower paid professionals. Apparently not.

Wow I had the same title as many of the H1B replacements before I was riffed.

They are not saving money with H-1B's. Fools.

But we can hire 491 H-1B visas in 2023, some with starting date in December?

The SUB (Supplemental Unemployment Benefits) plan DOES include the continuation of your previously selected health insurance coverages for the duration of SUB benefits.
