HR in the building

So on Monday opening manager talked to the merchandising team lead so bad and cursing at him from left to right in front of all his associates because club wasn't 100% at 8am the guy left the keys on register and walked out and now HR is here with club manager, the opening manager and merchandising lead and all I can say is nothing will happen they talk to us like we trash every day.

Just a friendly reminder, HR is not on the hourly associates side.

Associates stand your ground. No one has the right to curse or belittle you. If you allow it then it’s your own fault. Take respect for the associate to the top if you have too.

Let's this be a lesson to everyone wanting to be a TL, know your sh-t! Know the strengths of your team and the weaknesses. Know why things happen the way they do, so when some tool comes at you like this guy did your ready. Look at your head count, look at your schedule coverage, look at sales and when they are heaviest. What other areas are you and your team having to cover for. Also think about that opening manager is their area always 100%?? Why? Does your team ever have to flex in and help them?? Stand your ground, and those on your team worth anything will produce for you. Mine does, hope this helps someone push back in a meaningful way.

@utx+1otKXWTZ, it's easy to say the lead shouldn't have walked out like that.
it could have been the best thing to do. If someone is cursing and berating me, it would be difficult to not get back in their face as well. IF the manager was in the wrong & the lead didn't curse back, HR will likely not discipline him because of the amount of associates that witnessed the altercation. Corporate will not want the negative publicity.

Should not walk out like that. No one will hire him later. It's like that just about every where. I've been talked down like that before. You just don't walk without something already lined up.
