This is a DEAD END Job.
- Former top performer now doing the bare minimum since receiving letters to move
P.S. We won’t be around to see the downfall so the trolls that spend the MOST AMOUNT of time on this site (Aka not doing any work) can shove it up their a$$
I work to task. If I’m done with my calls and work for the day, I leave and you can reach me on my phone. Conversely, when I need to work a ton of extra I’m there to do it also. I’m always a top performer and way overachieve my metrics. That’s what salary means.
This is AT&T. You might soon find yourself with an RTO "offer" in a different city, or State that you can't refuse.
Stankey does not care. AT&T has many Billions "With a B" to pay down. You are a cost, nothing more, nothing less. It is not personnel, just needs of the businesses.
You should be a motivational speaker
You've working for AT&T. They have the worst.
This has been happening for years.
They are able to get away with it as Directors, AVP and up have to justify themselves by surrounding themselves with headcount. Every team has 2 or 3 who will do whatever it takes to look good for their KPI while the other half carry the load. This happens at other companies as well where you have people paid not to work so they do not move to another company. At T people get by as their management is not competent enough or are just looking out for themselves and the overall team, so they let the slackers slack. If you are managing just the 4 people you need to get the work done and you are the next level, you can be easily replaced, so you need a few more to keep your gig.

T broke the social contract and ego minded micro-managers ruled. We need to tighten our belts with lower bonus, raise, and pension sold without the federal guarantee. But the CEO gets 2 million a month because he cut labor costs for surplussed workers with 5 or more years of service.
T can change anything they want at anytime, we are stuck with the current situation. Four years to retirement and don't want to relocate.
I committed to work 40 hours a week when hired. I’m a person of my word so I’ll work the 40. Not a minute more.
Most of the people in my work group just want the termination package and we'll just leave and move on. Some of us will likely get the package September 15th. I sure hope I do!
Think of the customer. They are locked in contracts for service/products with this horribly run company. Don’t make them suffer with poor service or products because they still have to keep paying.
OP. This is an exchange between employee and employer. T, hired us for a job, do your job or leave man.
Yes, there are going to be changes, oh well, we’re here now. This is our reality. Remember, we work together. Proceed to slack off it will affect us all.
If you want to file a lawsuit against T, go ahead. But, to promote acts against the company because your feelings are hurt, grow up. Look out for your fellow coworker, family and most importantly yourself. I wish you strength and healing.
Do we work to time or to task? Asking for a friend. Also, if I do my job well, and don’t require 8 hours a day to do it, am I doing the bare minimum? Just asking, because the 8 hour labor model is based on a communist system. I’ve always found the philosophy around work fascinating.
It sounds like you're feeling disappointed or frustrated, similar to how someone might feel after a breakup. However, it's important to remember that if you agreed to work for T for a certain amount of time, you should fulfill your responsibilities and complete the tasks for which you are being paid. T is currently moving towards the future of technology, which serves as a reminder that our time working under their umbrella may be limited. Let's be grateful for the time we've had so far with T and continue to do our best work while we're here.
all most have to do is look in the mirror. this young generation usually only holds a job for two years. this is a trend that stank recognized and has stated that T is looking for those types of employees. this is not the place anymore for a long term career.
OP wants no one to work. That way he’ll look like he has average productivity
OP is absolutely correct.
You will probably be let go anyway, poor performance is not an indicator. But, less completed work means more employees needed. Especially in your area. If cut anyway, only leave the training manuals that you got when hired. In my case, a drawer with empty M&M wrappers.
Correct. It's not a career, It's just a job for money. The Stink doesn't care about you nor the stock price. He is totally incompetent
Absolutely. No need to sulk, that's life as they say. By sitting with your hands folded, you are guaranteeing getting laid off and people losing respect for you and seeing you a disgruntled loser that can't take adversity and has a weak mentality overall.
OP is correct.
This says so much about your character. Don’t bring others down with you.
