Thread regarding Capital One layoffs

Remote workers are not next

For anyone wondering, remote workers are not next. Discussed this with VP+. Take a look in workday at the total number of remote employees and you’ll see it’s very small. They will also give remote workers the option to go hybrid without laying them off if that ever happened.

VP said there aren’t enough remote workers that they’ll do that anytime soon versus just getting rid of BS.

BS people and those looking like getting BS at EOY need to worry

Well, here we go again. Another round of layoffs announced yesterday. PC and up, 2024 is not looking to bright for US based employees

Remote workers are next. All of the quarterly surveys are asking about hybrid. I'm still waiting to hear if my exemption will be upheld.

We moved to more days in office because some people were lonely and despite record setting metrics during covid.

Now that half of recruiting and now all of CDC personnel are gone, do you see the writing on the wall yet? They even ended the Lee Hecht Harrison contract.

They should better remove few senior manager , directors and senior directors . We have too much of them to maintain a small teams . Even there is not business complexity to keep so many big titles

Don’t believe anything senior leadership says. Unless you are in VA or off-shore, expect to be gone by 1st quarter 2024. Get your resume together. The writing is on the wall folks.

You act like anyone honestly gives a fu-k. Fire me, don’t fire, irrelevant. Capital One isn’t the only employer out there. Especially if you’re white, this company def doesn’t care about you.

To the top poster. Sure, we can trust anything senior leadership says. These folks only tell us what they want us to hear. They are only concerned with making "crocodile tears Rich" more money he will never be able to spend.

Everyone can see by now that they approved remote status for those that they wanted to have it. There are areas of the company that operate remotely. If you don’t have remote status by now, seems unlikely to be approved. Agree that they will start looking at those that do not have remote status and don’t meet the 2.5 days in office quota. Have seen Sr Manager and Director leaders relocate to people centers to keep their positions or for promotion opportunities.

Next will be those who don’t have remote worker agreement who continue to operate like they do…. Above seems spot on
