I think he's trying to set me up for a PIP or the next round of layoffs. Suddenly he has issues with my work but all I did in my three years here is make him look good. He was appreciative of it until a couple of months ago, when his boss noticed me and made a positive comment about my work. He was there and things have not been the same since. Now I seem to be screwed.

Let me guess.
Your manager is female!
Yup, in the wake of gender equality, they have promoted female who are in for b*ll bashing.
So you don't know what your dealing with.
Yup...
For sure PIP is coming. Take action:
- Resume in the market ASAP.
- Get all your bodies motivated to look outside. Tell them what is happening to you, will happen to them.
- Your time is limited at Hon, so enjoy, and plan the exist, with more friends.
Remember, when you leave with more talented folks like you. In return, you are helping those left behind.
Been there done that. Life is 100% better on the other side!
I did everything possible to make my manager feel threatened by me, job wise. She was the very definition of incompetent and came after me with full vengeance (after 4 years of stellar reviews) so I threw it back at her just as publicly as she did me. Additionally then she had two directors and HR continue the same cr-p. They all received it back from me publicly, however with more venom as they were all dummies and never could get it a fact straight. There is no better feeling than first thing in the morning clowning your entire leadership because of complete incompetence. Of course I knew what the end would be for me and I did not care, at that point it became personal and I don't take that sh*t off anyone. Happily retired

Are you another one of the docuhes that runs Honeywell, or are you another HR troll ar53h0le that just needs to get a real life?
Your best bet is to move to a different company. You are poisoned. I've seen it before. You're manager is afraid of you replacing him/her/it and you will be trashed. Unless, you have impressed someone above them that may then move you above your manager. That will probably mean that your manager will either be shown the door or moved latterly if there is a boss above them that values them. We at these lower levels will never have any visibility in to the upper levels to know what upper management is thinking. We just keep plugging away hoping to be recognized for our expertise and hard work. Honeywell will only appreciate your effectiveness/efforts for their own benefit and will never reach down to pull you up. Unless you know someone of course. Nepotism is strong with this company.
@2owk+1orcJyG1 So true on UOP what it has become UGH miss all the folks that got kicked out or retired early way they were treated how come the left. All the focus now is making sure BOXs are checked green, CIs or RPSs done and so on the pilot plants are on back burner as with labs too. Hah dont get me started on the accelerators and learning hubs that most dont pertain to plants or labs.
Happened to me & agree with the most recent comments. I was typically a 2 then deemed a threat, even though bravos, reputation had always been top performer - believe me, it does not pay off. Start looking - Honeywell doesn’t value talent, it drives it out, especially the new regime of UOP. Gone is the focus of product quality, top of the line intelligence & driving innovation….sad sad.
I worked for an incompetent manager for a number of years because I liked the work I was doing. Had previously always Been in box 2, and ended up in box 9 on PIP. If I ever got a pay increase it was low. Once he had left I was back in box 2. My experience is that your career will suffer, and therefore if you are able, best to quit the company. Ironically my manager actually blocked an internal move because he knew he actually needed me. A total a*e.
They pull his cr-p all the time. They also don’t want you to be promoted.
This will seal your fate.
Been there, the exact same situation. Sorry to say but there are only two options and the best is to start looking for a new job ASAP which is a great idea anyhow as Honeywell is going down the toilet fast. The other is to becoming ar5e kissing weasel which has no dignity at all.
Believe me, the snarky replies you are getting are from managers, in the last decade Honeywell has attracted a certain type of loser into those positions. Honeywell is the bottom feeder of corporations and it is where you go if can not get a job anywhere else.
PIPs are given out just because 'it's your turn'.
Get out or make a clear path to getting out.
Of the company, not just that group.
Stay confident. Always. Why live in fear with negative emotions. Exude positivity even if there is risk. Always.
Every. Single. Person. At the company earns a wage. Corporate entities are social structures and nobody is special. Try to have a good time while you collect your paycheck and pick up skills, a network, and experience along the way.
We are always in PIP mode for any reason. It is an indication of layoff on the way. Cheers up
If you are that good you shouldn’t feel insecure for there will be other jobs or re-appointments waiting for you.
And, if you are indeed that good, you wouldn’t have the time writing posts such as this sharing your insecurities.
Be happy and get your severance.
