Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Call Center Support Gutted

Support staff gutted. Two trainers left; RP gutted; Business Support gutted; Total Experience gutted; Quality gutted. Was told coaches and managers will be picking up the slack. As if those positions have the available time and resources to pick it up; f the frontline for development.

It’s already been apparent that Frier and Sievert care about fee stacking to the consumer and are no longer pushing being The UnCarrier. T-Mobile might as well be Verizon or AT&T. Remember no layoffs?

If you’re an hourly employee and work in a CEC, start looking for UNION representation. The company does not care about frontline, they care about the bottom line and you’re just a cog in the machine.

This isn’t the T-Mobile I started working at when John was the CEO, this is at best, a hostile work environment.

I’m one of many coaches who have been in a call center for a hot minute. If you work in my CEC, chances are _you know_ me or know me by reputation. I’m not a task master, I don’t PIP (performance improvement plan) my people if they’re not meeting. We work on it and build a development plan. Nope. Not anymore. You’re not meeting in one stat and we’ve talked about it? You’re getting paperwork in your Workday, PIP time. Not better in 2 weeks, formal. Still not meeting? Let’s hit you with an NGS (not good standing; last step to firing). And I’m now supposed to do that, and RPs job, and Qualitys job apart from the 60+ calls a month I already listen to and score.

Yeah, they said no more layoffs but there’s going to be bloodletting, people are going to lose their jobs as Frier and Sievert try to drive the stock to 200. It’s going ti be frontline and front line coaches who aren’t meeting.

So to my frontline folks, gdn it, I’m sorry. This is coming on from on high.

Coaches, have you been in the bottom 20%? These layoffs better have been a wake up call for you, shots have been fired.

All of this is extremely distasteful, not my idea of fun so I’m out.

Yeah it’s a very horrid hostile environment. They are putting metrics above people. We get driven all day like plow horses! Update the chat you’re call is long Whip! Update your ddc/stay connected on your breaks Whip! Chastising while Live listening and telling us what to say Whip! Your CRT (call rate time) is to high bring it down!!! Whip! They post these reminders about 6 times an hour every hour in the chat. It’s stressful and extremely micromanaging. We get spoken to like shot now too. It’s an extremely hostile environment now. Been trying to find work elsewhere for a few months.

What do you need development for when there are no jobs to promote into now?

I hate to say it, but like the original poster said, Frier has literally kicked open the door for CWA (Communication Workers of America) to stroll in to every call center and have the NLRB certify a union election. It’s called karma and it’s spelled ha ha f**k you

It’s obvious that the people making these decisions have never worked in a call center. Jon F and his team have no clue how difficult they’ve just made life for all of the remaining leaders to actually support their frontline.

With no Training, RP, or Business Support - Most of the old career paths for Frontline are gone too. This will destroy the last shreds of morale that are left.

It’s painfully sad for me to think about how great (although challenging!) we made things from 2012-2020 only to see it all crushed from 2021-2023.

RIP UnCarrier. You were a good friend.

RE: I can only speak to the CEC but they already gutted HR when they went to “Total Experience” and had regional HR reps.
