Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

COS Team Lead

I don't know about anybody else but feel like team leads need to make at the least $25 an hour, what we have to do is too much for the pay. They say we are right under management. Never a truer statement. Because we have to figure out lunch's breaks running around all departments. Cash office and so on all with an understaffed shift ALL THE TIME!!! With NO help from management. It's basically. Well figure it out.

Exactly. I said the same thing. If we are right under management. Then we should be making a lot closer to their pay. You are right about all that. especially breaks and lunches. Not to mention who is doing gas station's lunch. All without a staff. now Our store want's cos's us to go out and do gas station lunch. Don't know how we are supposed to that when we are filling in for everyone else's lunch. Hey, I don't mind a little B.S if you pay me enough. But $21 for the stress nope I think about that every day.

How do you think the long term associates feel. New people are coming in and they're making a heck of a lot more money than us old associates.

They don't hire enough people to do the jobs and won't give the part-timers enough hours to do any good. And no one working part-time is going to put up with the amount of pettiness this place dishes out. They work people to death for low wages and treat people like dirt.

The long term associates have been getting screwed over for years. They up others pay by dollars and they get 30 cents yet managers expect them to do everything. I feel bad for them. Managers treat them bad. We have new people that got hired on making more than long term associates cause of the work credits.

So what about the floor merchandisers, and the forklift drivers who basically have to drop their merchandising duties to assist other areas, or drop items for freezer, or dairy? All the while putting themselves behind in the process. Don't they deserve the same compensation? We also have to wear many hats, juggle many duties and suffer burnout. Pay should be looked at for long time associates as well. You know, the ones Sams Club leans harder on because of years of experience. The problem is staffing, and poor work ethic quite frankly.

They could pay you, me, and everyone else $50 an hour. The higher pay wouldn't fix the problem.
Some of the lead positions are too much for one person to cover. That's the issue, not more money. Higher pay just makes living easier. It doesn't make the job easier.
