Thread regarding USAA layoffs

The worst days of USAA

I have been with USAA now for 21 years, this is the worst thing to happen in our history. Wayne, in my 21 years having see many CEOs come and go has been the worst leader to. Not employee centric at all. Bonus structure under his leadership is degraded, we are not one team we are all separate departmental teams. Lowest bonus and compensation in my 21 years. With inflation, job uncertainty and No on the job training to assist for the job of the future we are in such a decline. I am always worried now, not enough to keep up with inflation, not enough to pay for my benefits, that I had to give up benefits for the 3rd year in a row cannot afford. So stressed about Will o have a job next day next week or even in a year. Working here over the last three years I no longer have any joy. I stay as it has been my professional home, but no longer feels like a home with a soft landing spot. I feel for this employee that he had to go to these extreme measures to end all that I just described. Unfortunately their are so many at usaa that feel this way each and every day. Me too over the last 3 years. Usaa provides no hope no happiness no peace of mind. Sad day for the company I have worked for for over 20 years.

I thought this belonged on the top. Reposted from @yct+1ojrpugs.

Maybe some people are unlucky to need something known as income, and saying “just leave” when they don’t have another clear way to get it is dense and unhelpful

I understand you’ve invested so much time but if you are this miserable why not leave? Ppl get so crippled by fear of the unknown that it paralyzes them. Life is so much more than being in a toxic place day in day out. Give yourself a chance to be happy. There is more to life than USAA!

The culture of the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s USAA is finished. Joe did his best to recover from the Bob Davis disaster.

Wayne has dragged USAA down to incredible depths. It is NOT a secret that USAA's service culture has completely vanished. Everyone in San Antonio knows it has. And every employer in San Antonio, Austin, Houston is getting bombarded with USAA resumes.

Forget the woke stuff and the NFL and the kneeling. Just talk basic rate-file and the binder that USAA now gives to the members. It's hilariously bad. The insureds post photos of their ridiculous binders all the time now. Everyone in my military family has dumped all of their business, they are insurance-non-grata.

Even if the old service culture came back, it would not save USAA because the product line has been destroyed. The company exists on the FUMES of what people who don't interact with USAA much but remember about it's old culture tell them. How long is that going to last for USAA. Maybe another 10 years, tops?

USAA is in serious trouble and it is stuck with a board that's d-mber than a box of hair.
