Asking anyone who has left the business - how long did it take for you to lose your 50% employee discount? Does it happen right away or are they slow to notice that you've left?

For me it varied. Cell happened relatively quickly (for T) within 2 to 3 months. I think Internet took 8 months. Directv over 1 year (I got an additional season of NFL Sunday ticket in T’s swan song. Thanks losers). Traditional phone took the longest > 18 months. Typical T efficiency.
It’s fast but even the employee discount monthly rate is higher than most competitors. I switched to competitors for all services and pay so much less. ATT is overpriced.
Switch to cricket. You can use the same phones. 5 lines for only $160.
I know I had my satellite discount for 11 months before they discord me. Saif they didn't have an address to notify me. Hmmm, I got my pension check there just fine. No I did not pay it!!!
T-Mo is cheaper than AT&T with discount.
Why do you care?
Go literally anywhere else and beat it as a regular customer.
Especially one of the MVNO's from the cable companies such as Xfinity Mobile or Charter.
Like $30, unlimited everything.
Our "benefit" is a joke.

I switched to T-Mobile 2-3 months after I resigned and was still receiving the 1/2 price discount with T.
I left the company (resigned) in October of 2022 and never lost my discount. I began looking at T-Mobile's options and their normal service price (with 4 free iPhone 14's and $200 per line for switching over) I jumped on it. I pay less with T-Mobile and get better service than I did with At&t with employee discount.
I'm willing to pay off my phone balances to switch to T-Mobile, a FAR superior network.
T-Mobile does look like an attractive option, the only issue is many people have phones on installments, ang getting credits, so it makes it a bit harder to switch. Oh, sure, people hated 2-year contracts? Carriers got a nice solution for them, let's replace them with 3 year installments that are virtually the same thing, but instead a couple of hundred dollar ETF, you now have hundreds of dollars of remaining installments balance. BTW, for those who forgot, we have T-Mobile to thank for that with their Uncarrier initiative:)
Just switch to T-Mobile and get an EVEN BIGGER DISCOUNT!!
I switched our 5 line plan to T-Mobile and save $$ every month compared to our employee discount. All taxes and fees included, no administrative fees, plus we get free Netflix, free Apple TV+, and free AAA. Do your research and switch as fast as you can.
Your last day as an employee is your last day of discount.
Yes and no. The removal of a discount is pretty much immediate, but the full price rate starts with the next billing circle. So after I left, my next bill was still at 50% off, but the following, about 2 months after my last day on payroll, came at full price.

switch to Verizon or TMobile and you'll save a lot of money....for retirees or those exited from the business they should have kept the 50% discount.
Retiree is only 30% for mobility, you can do much better in the market as long as you can get coverage.
How much is the retiree discount? Just wondering since I'm not close to retiring
On your next bill cycle
For me, the wireless discount automatically changed to retiree discount. If your not retiring I think it lasts at the most 60 days. In any event, I went to Spectrum (Verizon) with 4 lines and am saving +/- $100 month from my discounted T service and coverage is identical.
