Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Global Employee Survey

"We want to hear from you".... do they? DO THEY REALLY? Or are they just saying that to try and appease us but honestly don't care, won't take any of our thoughts into consideration and it will be a big, morale dampening heaping pile of nothingness like everything else??

Asking for a friend... ;)

@ghx+1ofudTna. So true. Any time info was given to senior managers recognition was never given. It's a terrible culture.

The survey is no longer anonymous, it clearly says confidential. Your manager might not know you submitted it, but the executives surely will. Who's to say they don't use it to layoff those rating the company low in order to boost the score the next time the survey is submitted.

The old survey, your direct manager would get hit hard on things that weren't even under their control, if their directs gave bad scores. My old manager was amazing, and tried to get us the things we needed. She showed us the denials she got left and right trying to do what was right by us. If we rated the company poorly, she got rated poorly so in that way we were incentivized NOT to rate her poorly (despite it being about the company).

Made a mistake a posted thisbon another thread

My only experience with senior leaders and the survey results was a situation where several were trying to one-up each about the percentage of their team that filled it out, they hadn't when looked at the results and obviously didn't care but they must have had some $ tied to the response percent as that was the key thing for them. I won't be completing it based on this alone, not that I expect anything other than busy work to come from it anyway even if I did.

It’s not like they listen to our concerns anyway. I’m not taking it

There's no upside to filling out surveys at Wells Fargo

As you all probably are aware, it's not anonymous. The submissions can be and are tracked.

For example, if you submit a comment that has any type of allegation or complaint it will end up in ER's hands for review. By way of this, ER will then reach out to the "Anonymous" individual to obtain further clarification on the allegation. With that said, it's not truly anonymous and all submissions can be and are tracked to who submits.

Nowadays I exercise my fifth admendment rights. Saying nothing is better for everyone than saying anything at all. This goes for surveys, performance reviews, etc.

In the past and into today things keep getting worse (job security, wage growth, career advancement, culture) despite the gigantic sample size of probably millions of entries over decades. The company only wants to hear what it wants to hear.

If anyone did contribute something truly beneficial to WF, that contribution would not go recognized or rewarded.

If anyone contributed something critical about WF, that contribution could only be used against the employee.

And if it isn't obvious, I have 0% trust in leadership/management. Experience way too many events that were so toxic and unnecessary to maintain the company's bottom line.

WF would have to perform a multitude of acts of gods to win me over (and I am not important so I am comforted in knowing they would never be willing to try).

Yes, they want to hear from us so they say oh look at how high participation is. Our employees are so engaged. We deserve more money!

I took it recently and have not heard anything since. Feel like I chump believing it matters. In the corporate world candor and honesty will be collected as free information by those above you, for their benefit only. Everyone for themselves. We are no longer team members; just employees.

They quit using the term "anonymous" a while back. The now use the term "confidential" which means: We know where you live!

My peers and I are waffling between being brutally (and negatively) honest and just not filling out the survey. Unfortunately, and it's designed this way, negative feedback is never blamed on upper management. We don't want to make our own excellent managers look bad.

You have 3 choices -

  1. Tell them everything is peaches,
  2. Tell them the truth,
  3. Don't take the survey

Your choice really does not matter in the end. Your feelings won't change and they won't change. I mean what are they going to do? Stop the India outsourcing? Start hiring replacements for all that have left? Stop the RTO madness? Treat us with respect - like assigned cubes? Nope, none of this will change. Leave if you can else continue to suffer their leadership.

While it's supposed to be anonymous, I have zero trust it actually is. And depending on your group size it might be able to figure out who made what comment.

Moreover, the way they ask the questions, it can easily skew to being ok. e.g. my manager cares about my career etc. Well, yeah, my manager is fine but has the same issues the rest of us do with other stupid sh*t that's happening.

They want to hear, they just will not listen. It is a check the box exercise.

What’s the script to shoot to the top of the lay-off list?

Of course they want to hear from you. How else could they add additional layoff-relevant busywork that you asked for if they don't give you the opportunity to ask for it (complain).
