So many of us are simply waiting to get laid off for the long paid vacation to regroup for the next chapter.

I don’t understand why T is paying us salary for doing nothing. Isn’t it cheaper to pay severance instead ? Maybe finance guy is lacking basic math skills. If they are thinking we will resign w/o severance they are wrong. We are resilient. We will go back to the office and continue doing nothing. This is easy job.

I pray every day to be laid off. And I'm not leaving until they pay me to leave.
It's funny. When I got a phone call from some manager who I never met before, but I guess he was my boss' boss, to let me know I was going to be laid off, about 2 months ago, he tried sounding sympathetic and apologetic (and was bad at it)... while I could barely hold back the laugh, because I was thinking to myself "dude, relax, you're doing me a favor;)"
Please, take me! I'm ready to leave this place because T has reduced me to an uninspired, unmotivated and apathetic employee! It's time to go whether T lays me off or I go on my own, but it's time!
September 15th is surplus announcement date per CWA/T contract and a lot of people are praying to be laid off.
