I lasted less than 2 years. My stress levels were through the roof. I had the Sunday scaries everyday of the week. I was drinking 5-6 days a week (after work of course). New job and company saved me. I’m so much happier. Now, I have a few drinks on Friday night. I really liked the people I worked with at Honeywell but imo the corporate culture (and some Directors) were toxic. Nothing will change. This company is setup for toxicity.

I left over five years ago and I still have high anxiety nightmares about having to go back to work at Honeywell. It's a form of PTSD.

Upper L Engineer, always rated highly, got better cr-ppy raises when they actually let us keep them....
Hon will poison you. Not kidding. Even if the creep is slow...it'll get you. Then, even if the next company is amazing... you're poisoned, your paranoid, you're overworked and burnt out, you're jaded and at your worst. Just stop, stop caring, do the minimum and less. Chill out for a few months while you laugh at the whole thing. You're applying now should round out about Jan 21st when you're vested and can leave in a much better state and be glad you did.

So glad to have been RIF’d this summer (SPS-UK). Loved the work and colleagues, but HW management was clueless and it was increasingly becoming more difficult to manage projects within the HW work environment. The culture deteriorated significantly when DA took over.

Amen brother or sister. Honeyhell is pathetic. I wish they never bought Intelligrated. They did not understand our business, product or customer cycles. I "was" always excited about driving into the office to start the next day but then realized how I felt pulling into the driveway in Mason. It is not the projects or customers but rather the ahole management and Jane L$ that depressed me. All they care about is their goals and 9-block to hit their targets to get a bonus and move on in a couple of years. Management is not their for the customers or employees but rather they wallet.

I left Honeywell during 2020. I volunteered to be let go during the COVID layoffs. Just like you, my stress levels plummeted. My family actually threw a party for me on my last day, when I got home. Ha! They understood how toxic that place is/was. I do not regret leaving.

Based on my historic pay raises, I've extrapolated out what I'd be making now if I'd stayed at Honeywell. I'm making about $70K more than that. Leaving was a financial plus.

Probably the most notable ways were in my health and relationships with my children.

  1. My annual twice a year blood draws and blood pressure improved dramatically after leaving. My personal physician commented “what happened “ how did you improve. Simply by leaving Honeywell. Improved diet, sleep, and exercise was only moderately change in my behavior, but not having the RIF drama, BS stretch goals, most different was the abuse by leadership screaming and yelling and moving the goal posts.
  2. Near the end my youngest child must have seen how much time I was spending working, missing kids events, and one day while driving they looked at me and said….”why do you put up with the BS?” I was stunned that my child noticed this but in reflection to survive HON demands you sacrifice everything for NOTHING

R&D is toast. Their strategy was to just buy tech through acquisitions, turns out they are 5hit at that as well and R&D takes years to rebuild. Current leadership will just internally asset strip/cost cut to maintain their bonus threshold before leaving it all as a steaming pile of sh!te. You will see C Suite rollout a restructure next year, it is already well in the works.

R&D has been decimated. The good folks have already left and the ones left behind won't stay for long.

Adv Tech funding is down to near ZERO I was told. March on Honeyhell ...

I retired a few years ago as a senior manager in supply chain management. First 20+ years were very good to excellent, however the last 10 years working there were a real PIA. Pity the poor men/women still putting with the daily HON bologna. GL

I agree. Intelligrated is a disaster. Leadership does not know the equipment or required project effort. Very stressful when all they can do is flail their arms and yell the sky is failing, please make this go away. They can add no solution but sure in he$$ blame you and complain.

@gzn+1oToU8N9 You could not be more wrong. I was Band 4, Principal engineer, the majority of people I know who were genuinely of a high level have abandoned Honeywell in the last few years. There are many threads on here from people who were/are clearly from a product development role. To be fair, it is R&D that has been spat on by leadership more than any other division and the impact of that is really beginning to show. I can only assume you are prospectively researching Honeywell as you clearly haven't experienced it.

Engineer here and I am sick of Honeywell. I am waiting for the 401K match before I leave. Just like every year, a bunch of folks leave in January and I will be one of them.

I was in engineer in aerospace for 20+ years. Leaving was the best thing I ever did!!

If you think just because you are an engineer, they will treat you well - they won’t. Corporate greed flows to all employees.

can all of you please explain and mention the position u were holding or currently holding?

Reading through this website, it seems to me that the majority of negative experiences is from the workforce on the floor, logistics, supply chain and these kinds of positions (not mean to be superior or anything, sorry). However, am not seeing as much of complaints from those holding slightly higher up positions, or engineering/research positions. Again, not saying that this is healthy, but seems like there is a group of people that is always suffering, whereas HW could very well be a good fit for other group of people based on what position they may get assigned to for a happy life-work balance.
