CFO just announced that we are going to cut US finance jobs (both voluntary and CPM) to increase HC in lower cost center like Costa Rica. And apparently only targeting to US finance employees. How is that ok especially when the company took government fund (source from our paycheck) to increase OVERSEAS jobs?

Intel Finance prob has about 4x the HC they actually need to run the business. They got so many heads doing the same thing, or nothing at all... so this was a long time coming.
CHIPS Act money is for company’s who do business in America. It is NOT intended for company’s who are still constantly shifting jobs to other country’s.
Finance….. isn’t there some cloud app by now that can do what they do?
CHIPS Act money is not increasing or even keeping finance jobs.
Where is the source? Was it internal memo to finance ops only? I don’t see anything in my inbox or circuit.
Intel use to just have the big layoff and then you were safe for 4 years before the next big one. Now it is culling employees constantly in a slower but more consistent manner.
I’m sorry but from what I remember at Intel … financial analysts weren’t needed. All they did was “confirm” my estimates…. Little value add.
It is not only US. It is the UK and any other countries outside the stated in the email low cost locations..
I keep saying this, intel does not care about their employees, they keep reducing benefits and moving jobs to lower costs geos just so PG and other execs can profit themselves even more.
If you can find another job, leave intel as soon as possible.
This is not OK. Start writing to congress Topic: Chips Act and the governor of Ohio.
It’s not ok. We will be watching this closely.
