Not getting a raise while being promoted

Somebody mentioned this yesterday. Is this even possible?

I was promoted to Director for a 3% raise. Worse mistake I ever made in my career. Promised future raises never happened.

Yeah when I got promoted to SS they gave me like 7% I'm like ok guess not bad for a promo??. Then I asked in few months it was raise time and if was expected one micro guy said no it was put into the promo % so I was like ok then the % for promo not good if no raise to and then a lot more responsibility to be an SS for what 7%? Whatever with this place anymore going into job do best I can with SS cr-p and go home. PSH UNREAL

Or you are promoted lets say from I to II, but the salary increase is something laughable just like formality.. 1-3%.

While about 10 years ago there were many guys with 30%+ salary increase.

How am I gonna get that $100 bottle of wine? By not giving you a raise. We will also need to do double to work.

We promoted the right people. No questions asked. Just do what you’re told, and believe you’re a future shaper.

I've seen shemps who took on managerial roles for years without officially being promoted to management, and who made less that many of the staff working under them.

Yes. Not a new practice. Had a good friend who was offered a leadership position and was told that he wouldn't be eligible to even be offered a pay increase until at least the next annual review. OH and have a nice day!

Yes. I was exactly offered this, a promotion without pay raise with the carrot that it would improve my chances of further promotion.... which was an outright lie.

I declined as the workload would be double and I was aggressively bullied by 'leadership' from that day on.
