Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Hopefully the record low participation rate in the employee survey will send management a clear massage

Not sure most of the managers care even though they SHOULD!

Our LOB was around 85% participation rate. Bosses very happy.

They won't get a clear massage because the narcissistic leadership is forever tone-deaf. You know, people don't change.

I'm all for diversity of thought, but I'm not excited about working with racists or under racist policies. Apparently you're a fan. Not shocking.

I think last year was around 70% participation rate. VERY curious to know what it is this year but no doubt that info will be very closely held.

Institutionalized racism? I really wish people with your attitude would just go away.

WFC under CS will become a classic business school textbook example of how to wreck a bank and destroy employee morale.

30+ years I’ve been completing surveys with commentary that falls on deaf ears. I refuse to complete it this year. My immediate supervisor was let go a few layoffs ago and my entire team has been decimated. I’m waiting for my invite to a call now.

“I refused to fill out the survey and was repeatedly told it was "needed" and our team looks bad when people dont respond.”

  • my department looks bad when I DO respond (my supervisor literally has 6 directs and her one up has a “department” of 23). BELIEVE ME, I could care less if they know what feedback comes from me or not. Our group (we’re part of Quality Assurance) is to small for them not to know writing styles and employee’s opinions of the organization and company in general. My supervisor’s one up was begging people to take the survey as late as Thursday and Friday of last week not because the participation was abysmal, but because he wanted to counterbalance the career sinking feedback he’s already getting. Believe me, I know management can BS their way through a performance review with their leaders, but that only works so long. Eventually the fault ends up resting on the shoulders of those who take on the burden of leadership. Being in charge is more than a paycheck, it’s about results. No results equal no confidence. No confidence equals no power. No power equals no control. No control equals direction. And that is where Wells Fargo is going into the 4th quarter of 2023.🤷🏻

Don’t kid yourself. Charlie’s direct reports get a bigger bonus based on participation of the survey

Yes. Exactly that obviously. You got it

If we had executives worth a cr-p, this would be true. Unfortunately, they only look at negative feedback as an excuse to torture employees until they wouldn't dare do it again in the future. The company's number on diversity isn't shaping up to be very good. They'll never even consider that the root cause is their own institutionalized racism. Instead, they are about to bury us with even more of it. Buckle up.

It’s a waste of time and it’s not anonymous. I gave a lot of feedback last year and it was ignored.

My manager never once brought up the survey. The 30 reminder emails did it for him.

But so far as in receiving any kind of retribution or extra work because or poor feedback, that has never happened.

And of course they have to collect our information. Otherwise there is no way to track department or group level responses. It’s done through a 3rd party independent survey company so just put a little trust into your PII isn’t being provided to Wells. But even if it was, why do you care? Big and bad on the internet but a frightened lamb in real life?

State your piece and move on. Lack of interactions and responses means there are no issues to address and you accept your environment as is. Nothing changes because the response rates are so low.

I didn’t complete it this year for the first time (15+ yrs). I figure since they refuse to communicate down to me any real direction (those BS AMAs aren’t helpful), then why communicate anything up the chain? I don’t care what flavor of ice cream you prefer, Sr. leadership. You don’t care about my ability to provide for my family.

Every COWARD at Wells needs to fill out the survey and provide feedback. If you are not filling out the thing, then STFU with your complaints about this place.

They (the management) care in as far as they can't hold their participation rate over another senior manager but that's it. I know 2 leaders that have one of their directs write up the key talking points and don't even read the results.

One excuse I've already heard about low participation rate is "survey fatique" as in people are just tired of doing surveys. Lol they will try to spin it whichever way they can.

I've given my notice to this awful company and the leaders here, been in the industry for over 20 years and although all banks have their bad groups it has gotten to the point where every group here is terrible. The senior leaders don't want anything to do with day to day operations so they hire a ton of yes men/women in the middle who just pressure those at the bottom.

Over 15 years, the survey never really did anything but make us form "committees" to improve the results. Just creating more busy work. I wouldn't expect anything more

Nothing good ever results from the survey - they, instead, punish you with extra bullsh-t brutal projects.

Employees say they want more opportunities for advancement. Instead of giving us more opportunities for advancement - they force us to fill out some self -improvement cr-p.

Employees say they want more communication from management (vs keeping us in the dark). We are still in the dark, but our department is STILL having Monday morning meetings with a supervisor who gives a rundown of what we “accomplished” last week. (We were there!).

They are just fu----g with us. It is a no-win situation.

And those who did respond probably ripped management. I know I did.

When you log into the survey, there is a privacy notice which says they do get your name, so that’s correct it is not confidential. Managers get updates every week and right now responses are around 40% which is extremely low. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that. But I agree that sends a message.

The message is that we know the responses are neither anonymous nor confidential, and don’t appreciate being lied to.

The message that we neither trust them nor have any faith in their ability to run the firm? I would agree with that.
