Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

I'm this close to hitting my breaking point at work

I have enough savings to be okay for about six months if I quit without having a job lined up. Is it realistic to expect to be able to find something else in that time in this job market? I've been searching already but due to being overwhelmed by work, I couldn't get fully into it. I barely have time for anything other than work and sleep.

Two words: quiet quit

Do enough to meet expectations and nothing more.

Good people will always get jobs, it may just take a bit more effort and time. Best of luck to you!

Do not quit OP, just focus on YOU. Network, get your resumes up to snuff, save more $, and start applying for a new gig. The job market su-ks right now, so put yourself in the best possible position to succeed while still getting paid by WF. You never know, 3 months from now you might land the best gig ever and WF might just downsize you and pay you to go away rather than walking away with no severance. Stay strong. They want you to fold and just walk away. Don't give in.

I was laid off a few months ago, there is literally over 300 applicants for each job, some on LinkedIn I see over 1000 people applied. Don’t quit, just keep applying while you are employed. Quiet quit your job and do less work to focus on applying for jobs. The employment search is really rough right now!

The job market is not good at all. The stock market is not indicative of what’s really going on out there. It’s basically a recession already.

Don't quit. Get your severance.

In general, the job market is not good. Depending on your specialty, local job market (unless you find remote role), etc., it could take well over 6 months to find new role.

So many are at their breaking point. Buy yourself time if it's unbearable. Take a leave of absence / short term disability while still employed. But definitely hold out for severance.

I'm sending you a big virtual hug and wishing you the very best.

No. Keep plugging away for now. Keep building that savings. And when you get laid off, then start looking.

It may be a couple years before the job market improves. It is only going to get worse for a while.
