I’m seeing software engineers, DSAs, data scientists, business control, compliance advisors, aml being let go. And full teams in those areas are being disintegrated and then reorged.
Is there any job safe at USAA?

SAFE ROLES = Wayne BADcock’s role, c-suites, and their cronies. Other than that, don’t feel secure if you’re not butt buddies with any of them.
That's literally exactly what happened to me. Placed on admin leave for a week for a BS witch hunt and then fired.
its funny you see alot of people just "go offline" from slack for weeks then all of a sudden they disappear completely. USAA utilizes administrative leave as a way to soften the blow while they build a BS case againt the person they are firing for whatever reason. Never seen so much sketchy sh-t before and I worked for Wells. LOL
Seems a little arrogant for them to call Data Science mature enough that they could start automating and reducing headcount.
The only way employees will know what is really happening is by posting sites such as these. We want to hear about what has happened to the individual without compromising that person's position.
Keep posting! That is the only way we will have insight into the tactics being used by USAA.
Think some were sneakily let go in bank. They go on ‘leave’ then don’t come back. I don’t like the way they are trying to do stuff on the down low. It’s so shady and cowardly. They crazy thing is they think no one notices like how they think no one notices that the rto building culture is bs. Insulting really.
Can you give more details as to which DSA / Data Science teams got hit with layoffs?
Word going around home office is there will be a small round of layoffs this month. But no, no area is safe, the bank has been getting hit consistently with the layoffs. But hey, let’s spend millions on Holiday Parties while the company suffered its first loss in 100 years, lost $13billion of its net worth, the CEO gave himself a 157% pay increase. And to save on expense instead, we’ll lay people off and cut your shift differential and bonus! Happy Holidays everyone!
No role is safe. But then again, that is the same all over the country.
Past layoffs. CFO/ECIO let go of data roles and swe roles. Banks been letting go of aml/compliance. culture roles were eliminated, as were data strategy and nextfit instructors.
I heard life also cut data roles, but don’t know too much about this area/can’t confirm on this
Uhhh, source? Details? Areas? Where are you seeing this? Is this happening right now or are you referring to the several rounds of layoffs we've seen over the last couple years?
