Any truth to the rumors that there is a change to the Benefits Handbook that results in laid-off Remote workers being ineligible for severance?

How about we eliminate the golden parachutes for executives first.
Yeah, that's what I thought. Go back to bed Charles, you're drunk again.
Not by much. Even if the rumors of 40% layoffs over the next X years are true, the overwhelming majority of WF team members, oh sorry Charlie, employees - will not be laid off. Thus even eliminating severance won't speed up voluntary departure by much since most people don't believe they're going to be the one laid off.
severance should just go away as too many are just waiting for it before they leave. Eliminating severance would speed up voluntary resignations.
I'm remote, no office for me. But am well aware my time is coming soon. Cheers to better days.
That's what the section means if your assigned location is <40mi and you were previously remote and you don't go in
In other words, if you are told to drive in to your hub location but do not, you are failing to show up for work, thus fired for cause, not laid off. There is no severance when fired for cause. That's all that section means.
read the section on substantial position change. if you had a telecommute agreement that was terminated and your assigned work location is >40mi then you qualift for severance else you do not.
you could try reading the handbook? While not specific to remote there is criteria on job changes that would qualify for severance so if you are currently remote and within a given distance of a location and chose not to go into office you may not qualify. this is similar to if they change my office location. read the darn handbook
I read severance section of the new handbook this morning. There is NO truth to that. It's the same as it's always been for displaced employees, regardless of location.
There is a new handbook, per an e-mail this morning, but I've not heard of any policy changes and haven't had a chance to look at the handbook.
No, there is no truth to this. I was remote and was displaced a week ago, and I will have severance until the end of May.
