Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Layoff protocol

Anyone know what Oracle approach for notice is? Package?
Do they keep it consistent or does it vary?
I’m lease pay it forward and share for the collective. I suspect differences could be challenged, especially in the same year.

Also depends on where you're located. Got a 6 months paid notice period and 12 months severance package after 15 years in Engineering (Northern Europe)

If you are h1b - manager and hr can agree for extra 15 days - 1 m notices as it requires visa transfer. Done on humanitarian basis by very few managers.
If not news today pack today

Remember there are also differences between countries. Notice of a layoff in the US is almost unheard of. You have the WARN act but it’s so easy to workaround that.

The "standard" is 2 weeks notice (so you stay on the payroll, benefits and everything for 2 weeks after being notified). The "package" is 4 weeks pay + 1 week/year of service (rounded up if you have six or more months into your last year of service). One month of COBRA paid.

I assume if they decide to cut you, they do it before next round RSU vests, so you are not eligible.
If is vests say September 20 - when is the latest they would notify about layoff? 1 month before it or it can be 2 weeks, or 1 day before?
