Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Tuesday…

Where are all the people calling for this Tuesday to be the big one?
Is this like the Spanish Inquisition? No one expects it?

The party is over for the unskilled bureaucrats. They don’t know a thing business mgmt and definitely have no social or leadership skills. They are embarrassing. They do not even understand the work that they steal I.e., manager promoted to VP after racketeering two other employees to take work from Orginal inventor that he already had.
It’s stupid that they don’t know what they are doing so, they steal from LE, shareholders, customers and employees.
That is a screwed-up business model.

Justice will be served and when it is, a Pandora’s box will be opened for the world to see. A book has been started. .

Another Tuesday is rolling around. Last one of the quarter. Last chance to realign the books and organizations. My guess nothing will happen until October.

Agreed. Performance is no guarantee of longevity at Oracle, in fact, it might be a negative factor. If your light shine too bright, you will be turned off, or as I have seen oh so many times, placed under a bushel basket.

"This site is quiet. maybe that's a good thing.
Hope they will realize producers do not need to be layed-off."

How long have you been at Oracle? I have known countless "producers" that have been let go and taken for granted after giving years of service and hard work. Some were not only good but excellent. All it takes is a change in the business direction which happens pretty much by the quarter at Oracle. The trick with longevity at Oracle is being in the circle. Playing the politics right. Anyone else your time is coming and it doesn't matter how good you are if you are in the wrong spot.

"If you get the layoff at Oracle is there any advance notice?" No advance notice, but you generally do stay on the payroll for two weeks after the notice. If RSU's vest during that time, you will get them.

Would be probably at least 2/3rds of the company would you say or higher like 3/4ths. I didn’t get jack sh-t last year and apparently that was the one year of some generosity by this company’s standards. So glad I made the effort!

Next Tuesday will leave 2 weeks to Sept 1. Last year RSU round vests late September.

So if I have Sep20 next round of vests, what is the latest date for notice I need to survive? If I receive no notice until Tuesday, it would mean I get my next round no matter what? They should serve me a notice earlier than 1 month left or is it 2 weeks or something?

“ if you get the layoff at Oracle is there any advance notice? “

No notice, but if you are not being assigned tasks, while others around you are busy … it is a clue.

For a consultant and you are on the bench … it is a clue

If you are in sales, with thin results … it is a clue

If the boss doesn’t like you … it is a clue

If you haven’t had a raise for years. … that’s just normal operations
