Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Something is changing..............

Lately, I've noticed that when full-time employees quit or are transferred they hire two part-time employees to take their place. I get the feeling that full-time jobs are a thing of the past. Anyone else notice anything out of the norm?

Hey knucklehead, head counts can and are changed at corporate discretion. This is what the author was talking about.

The clubs headcount is visible in my club you knuckleheads, including how many fulltimers and part timers departments are supposed to have.

the plan is to have most people working in clubs be from outside the company. sam's will keep a few people on that are sam's employees. but by filling the clubs through an outside source like vine, they can avoid paying benefits & giving vacation time.
they can pay vine a flat rate for their service. it will be up to vine or whatever staffing company to pay the associate what they want & provide benefits.
it's already in the clubs with taste and tips, vine, & sedgewick.

thats been policy, as been told to us at least 4 years ago from our store manager. for every full timer that quits we get 2 part timers. hence the systematic elimination and hazing of the full timers to quit. they'll probably delete this but its true.

It's been this way for a while, anywhere I've worked. When you are hired, they want you to stay long term. Until you do.

No, this just happens sometimes especially during summer. If 1 of the PT people are good and have patience they will have the opportunity to become FT. Saves on payroll and risk of hiring a bad employee into a FT spot.
