Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Notes from call…..

Not exact, but close.

We need younger people working at this company because that’s the market starting to mature in decision making levels……..

……this is an opportunity for us to think about that it’s hard to say goodbye to that which we know and really well trained people that have a lot of experience, and it can be emotional…….

———————————————————-
You’re welcome from an excellent note taker… you know, one of those old people that still writes on paper…. with a pen.

Does not matter. The webcast will be subpoenaed. AT&T legal is earning their keep more than ever. Stankey went above and beyond here.

@1ejg if there is an audio recording and you have access to it, you could post an actual transcript of the segment in question...

He said old people don't know where to plug in the internet.

There ARE audio recordings of this and I have heard one of them, as have others. This post, while not exact, accurately reflects what what was said.

Diversity and inclusion should allow for a mix of both a younger/newer culture , along with the older, more knowledgeable, and experienced worker. No need to get rid of either.

Why can we not all coexist to make this institution great again?

All he was saying was that older employees, who happen to have many years of knowledge and expertise, are retiring and it's sad to see them go.

You people just like to invent controversy.

@vaj+1o3Y9eXJ , but it's not odd at all that some Gen Z infant is so incapable of basic comprehension that they are unable to place the notes within context to understand the call from which they are taken.

You kids ... unless you're hand is held for every minor step or it's on a ticktock you honestly have no clue at all, do you? You poor, adorable, helpless little things, you.

This is pretty accurate. I did record a call where my AVP did his spiel for RTO but I am kicking myself for not recording this one. Just remember thinking ‘did he really go there’ as soon as he said this junk.

This is for sure from the internal call as look similar to the notes I took.

Odd how the guy bragging about his old school note taking skills failed to note WHAT call these were notes for
Everyone just assumes it’s the Stankey internal earnings call

you don't have to be sigmund freud to see that stankey's current scapegoat for his many failures is the employees, particularly those his own age. his narcissism is so great, he can accept no responsibility. he's a disturbed person. it's sad that this wasn't recognized at the time it was decided to put him in a position rom which he could create needless chaos and anxiety in the lives of thousands of people.

“ Avg age of leadership is around 50 so sc--w them too”
Idk all those cute young women directors and avps all seem to be in their early to mid 30s. Makes you wonder what they could have accomplished in 7-10 years post college to get there. Ever notice none of them have an original thought? They all skim off their L2s that actually do the work.

The funny part is that if ANY other executive would have said what Stankey did they would have been removed from the company.

AT&T would have offered up their job as a sacrifice to the PR gods!

Legal team has been busy with this one. There has been a legal hold placed on that recording for future lawsuits.

It appears that he is ok with age discrimination of a very large population. I assume he wants alienate the customers segment with the most discretionary spending money and wealth too. You know those GenX and Boomers that are near or already retired and have large pensions/401k and savings. Ask Bud Light how being tone deaf is working out for them.

Yet another poor business decision!! When does it stop and consequences happen?

Or just take out your cell phone and hit video record. Simple, don’t overthink it.

This may work to get the recording... To capture the video session on the laptop, get a video capture card from China, that has an HDMI pass-through capabilities enabled, unrestricted for HDCP. Install this card in the a different PC, and connect to the laptop's hdmi port. Then capture the stream.

The same people that want to get rid of the older people want to raise the retirement age to 70. I guess even Randy cannot retire and that is why he came back.
