Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Fire Your Boss

This is AT&T and if you are going to be surplussed you need to know now that your boss is your boss and not your friend.
And he probably had a hand in you being picked to go unless your whole team was chosen.
You need to call HR and report the things your manager has made you do. If everybody called when they should have things would not be allowed to get where they are.
The logic that management will find out it is you who called doesn't apply if there are too many other complaints.
Yes HR will always try to cover for your boss but not when it is obvious it can be proved. And when they equate the liability to dollars they will take appropriate action.
Not calling HR just perpetuates the cycle with new victims.
Also if your manager is toxic sooner or later you will pay the piper for him and you will wish you stuck it to your manager first.
Because once your gone and they remove COU access you have nothing except your thoughts of I should have acted.
Don't defend a company that only shares a name with a great company that once was. This is no longer that company.
And Randall and Stankey aren't the only ones who should be targeted for blame. It goes down the ranks just like Hi---r wasn't the only one that would be tried for war crimes.
Finally change the name back to SBC. Any company using American in their name should be held to higher standards and less fraud.

Your boss and coworkers are not your friends. I have read and watched a lot of VLOGs on this topic. It is true. Once you are retired, you MAY hear from 5% of who you thought were friends.

They always seem to keep the elderly. Everyone who made it past the last surplus was very long in the tooth. I guess it’s because they always choose to hang onto their drinking buddies instead of the performers.

Got along with my mgr. If he singled me out before the ELDERLY folks on my team then F him. It doesn’t matter.

Would I like to know the real truth? Probably not.

Move on!

It’s a company where one person is paid very well to stab the other in the back.

This doesn’t make sense. Why would anyone not have made a report earlier if there was a problem with a boss or higher leader? If someone never spoke up, it’s too late when being terminated. The problem was you!

"...when it can be proved."

"proven"....proven is the word you're looking for there Champ.

And you lost me with the reference to Adolf there, a bit over the top perhaps. Lighten up Francis.
