It’s beyond belief, but we are not allowed to call them - don’t even have a phone #.
I’m in an area where certain work is time sensitive and involves a lot of money. We are also working with archaic systems that haven’t kept up with industry changes and result in complicated problems which can only be fixed manually. It takes a long time to try to spell out the problem and the work-arounds in e-mail. And then we are at our India counterpart’s mercy as to when and if they e-mail back. It involves a lot of going back and forth over for e-mail for hours when it could potentially be resolved in 10 minutes on the phone (if everyone can understand each other.)
Errors don’t get fixed before the system cut-off, causing problems for our clients. Managers say they empathize-and act as if it’s out of their hands. (They also get an attitude sometimes that they don’t want to keep hearing about the problems.)
Where is the common sense? I don’t honestly know how we stay in business.
