In the Bay Area we are paid extremely well. Pay is great wish I could work here forever but those dang scary lay offs…

Cobalt isn't the only thing in electric cars that's problematic.

Tesla batteries are cobalt-free already, and it's the direction all lithium batteries are headed. Also, if you have a gasoline car, you're using tons of cobalt every day because cobalt is used in gasoline refining.
The opportunities are there if you apply yourself. They aren't knocking down your door though if that's what you're expecting

We have a lot of problems, not buying EVs isn't one of them.
It's truly unfortunate when you can't welch off the system to get a rebate on a battery with wheels the raw materials of which are made by exploited 3rd world countries and unsafe mines with child labor.
