Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Any Director+ here?

I’ll admit, I’m overpaid.

But I don’t know where else to go.

You’ll be able to find a job if your skills justify your comp - but do they? It seems rare at Wells. It seems like people are wells paid to be good at being a Wells employee

It used to be that bank employees were sought for, not anymore. Especially technology....they just spend more time documenting and applying bureaucratic processes vs learning and implementing new technology.

Honestly if you’re actually any good you’d have been recruited away by now

Too bad Charlie or his minions don’t just ax you like the rest of us. The difference is I was a lowly paid worker who gave my soul to this sh$thole and was poorly paid

Dir. here, probably overpaid, but not complaining. Job market is tightening, as I’ve been applying with a few interviews here and there. Waiting on a few decisions. BUT, the closer I get to next year’s bonus, harder decision to make. Timing is everything :)

Similar, in a senior lead role. Paid way over market. Makes this place a velvet coffin.

OP: I've heard that statement from another highly paid "director"
So, either stay and collect your high salary or find a job that has potential for salary growth. But don't come to this site hoping for sympathy....we are all trying to navigate choices that are best for us either individually and/or for our family -- if you have one and are the main source of income.
