Exit experience

What's the exit experience like at T? Is there an exit interview?

For me there was no exit interview No exit survey. In fact, no way for anyone to provide their comments or experience at all.

What I got was a few emails containing a bunch of pdfs that were just legal CYA things to protect T, a 6-month subscription to LHH (which wasn't very helpful), and a sheet telling me of the timeline when things happen (i.e. the date my bonus would be distributed, the date COBRA ends, etc).

But then again, why would T bother with things like exit interviews? They already know what they'll hear, so for them there's no point.

Besides, abattoirs are designed to be efficient, and things like exit interviews just slow down the process. T has tens of thousands of lives to ruin, and no time for niceties.

I retired so mine was not painful. A check list of questions they go thru and one box is would they re-hire. If you want to come back as a contractor possibly in the future make sure that is checked. Also download copies of your last paychecks and proof of employment before they lock you out. Make a list of company contacts you may want to use as references in the future. Copy the course history of classes you may have taken. If retirement eligible download all the retirement SPD
's. Download this document Resources for Employees Leaving AT&T. Good Luck!

Once you log off, nobody will care or even remember you the next day.

Tools keys ID, then goodbye. What more is needed ? Order your gift, get your $500 dinner reservation, meet with your financial advisor. Don’t look back. Have fun . Shake your head and sp-t. Onward and upward. Live a free and replaced life and say a prayer for the coworkers you liked.

Funny how after people leave the company they keep coming back to social media sites like this because they obviously miss the company.

My exit "interview" is tomorrow. I honestly don't care what they want to say, let's just get the boxes checked, I will then pack your equipment and take it to UPS, and we're done. That's all I'm looking forward to. Just to be done with them.

My exit experience was glorious. I was very happy to be kicked to the curb when I was a few months away from my full pension. Glad I am out of that shi+hole

T is not a innovative company that need employees satisfaction or retaining high skilled employees
It offers poor services that doesn’t need any skills to offer
So in tow words, no one cares about you, you are replaceable

I had exit interview with someone from Dallas, it was to cover T from any legal complications and your manager will collect your cellphone and laptop and cc
It wasn’t how I expected the day I say good bye to T and my coworkers
Totally sad

Exit interview??? doesnt happen...your supervisor reads an impersonal script and points you to a website.....and ironically..."employees are our most important assets"...You get kicked to the curb..take care of yourself and your families..

When giving your resignation letter and having THAT talk, would you tell your supervisor what company you are going to? Trust level with supervisor: 50%

Your toxic manager will call and you must say YES to everything they ask, if you want your severance

For management, there is a huge checklist that your supervisor goes through. It's lots of signatures, validating you're returned assets, giving you URLs to various things, and so on. Not much of an 'interview' per se, just a big to-do list.

Going to repost this since it was the only helpful answer given.

Your boss will tell you how sorry they are and it was not their choice, followed by how you will be better off elsewhere. In the same breath you will be told how they don't know how they are going to pick up the slack in your absence and they need to find a replacement for you. Meanwhile the dirty little secret is both of you know how you were put on a list by your boss to be sacrificed in order to save the rest of the team. You just don't measure up here, so get the he-l out of here and don't let the door hit you in the a-s on the way out.

It’s a joke. They just want their equipment back…no opinions!! Nothing to gain at that point.

having conducted many of these in management, I can tell you that it's a pain in the a-s.

Usually a very rushed process and annoying because I have better things to do, like getting back to my email and you're in the way of it. So turn in your stuff and don't let the door hit you in rear end on the way out.
