Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

I am really curious why City Leaders in these Hubs

That are going to be eliminated, ie San Ramon, Chicago, St Louis etc. aren’t pushing back on T due to this forced relo……. This will be a hit to their tax base and not only that it’s just so unnecessary. Why isn’t this getting more attention from even governors of these states. Man I could see a lawsuit happening from a mile away to tie this up in courts.

The mayors of these cities just understand raising taxes and welcoming in an underclass to keep them voted in.

T doesn’t provide that high enough level of income tax through its employees to matter as much as you believe they do. A mere blip on the tax radar. Your desperation to not have to move is showing. Be an adult. Move or quit. My god this country has very weak citizenry.

What about California and New York? They lost dozens of corporations to Texas, Florida and Georgia.

I don’t know about the AmeriTec region, but when SBC bought PacBell there has always been a slow burn to get as much of the company out of CA as possible.
Things is, CA has as much telco eqpt as the rest of the company combined.

How do you know they haven't been trading favors for all this? Heck, Whitacre left St. Louis because he wasn't allowed into a country club. It's likely that movers and shakers would shun Stankey in Dallas "society" if he doesn't help fill their buildings with this mo--nic move.

Lawsuit? On What grounds? Private business had the right to employ or not employ as they see fit. They have the right to operate and do business or staff where they deem in the best interests of the company. There are no ground for a lawsuit…don’t be an id--t
