Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

HON rep

I attended a local charity community event and ran into a number of former HON employees.

The word on the street is similar to the posts here. The brand name is significantly damaged.

Any large corporation will have a bad reputation or skeletons in their closest but you know what - stocks of these companies are still a darling to the wall street cowboys. Honeywell is no exceptions to such practices such a stretching their cash flow by holding out on vendor payments and so on. Its just being shrewd at running a company.
Honeywell has a bad rep and so are others. Like it not, its just the way. Thats why joining some of these smaller outfits may be more appealing.

I lost our only local vendor for one service (a small company) because Honeywell did not pay them after 18 months despite multiple requests and worse than that I lost my personal reputation with that firm because of it. Everything about this place disgusts me!

Driving away vendors is easy. Just "forget" to pay them.
At least 5 key vendors have sent me letters , in the last 90 days, saying my material POs will not ship due to unpaid invoices aged 1year or older. The reps have stopped calling/visiting and worse ...my customers, including the Army, AFRL, Boeing, and Airbus tell me that these vendors talk bad about honeywell.
Honeywell is a legit deadbeat.
Not someplace i can work any longer.. professional su----e.
Taking my vhdl coding bu-t someplace else.

Last year I ran into a guy who used to sell to my employer prior to Honeywell purchasing us. Now, he and his employer will have nothing to do with us. It must be pretty hard to drive away vendors. But it is even easier to drive away customers.
Sad.

I’m trying so hard to get out of this garbage dump. So sorry I ever got in and thought it would be great on my resume. Instead, it’s an anchor. I’ve been here for a decade and have been stressed about layoffs and PiPs and many other nonethical behaviors that I regularly witness since then. I have applied to over 25 jobs with a few interviews, some that seemed to go well. No offers. How do I get out of here voluntarily before getting laid off? It’s like a never ending “fun house” full of mirrors and some cruel person has removed the exit doors. I keep plugging away, getting different certificates, etc, but doing the same thing and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity. Maybe so is venting here. I find it helpful to commiserate.

Truth. I just had a job interview and got grilled about working for Honeywell, the interviewer openly had very low regard and was suspicious of my ability because of this. Fortunately I had worked for top tier companies before Honeywell and just told them the truth about working here and how it was mistake, the conversation went a lot better after that. Honeywell is no longer good on your resume, in fact I am removing it off Linkedin once I have a new job as the optics are so bad.
