Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Number of seats

Exactly how many seats do you all think are at these hubs? HA! Demanding ALL of these people to RTO at two hubs is nonsense. Are they going to have cubicles on the lawns under tents? LOL

I don't need a seat. I'll be driving to work in my camper van. I'll chip the door, go back to my van and hit the corp wifi from there. I'll have the nicest cube there; fridge, couch, tv, etc..

"Quit effing complaining and get to work. The company is within their right to ask us to RTO or relocate. Don't like it, QUIT!"

You must still have your job LOL

"Tweet (anonymously) about the working conditions at the office."

Not initially going through the T chain of command would be a COBC violation.

For those folks in Dallas and ATL who suddenly have to go to work next week.. bring your cameras, take pictures/videos, and have the local fire marshal on speed dial. Tweet (anonymously) about the working conditions at the office.

People occupying hallways isnt just d-mb, its against fire code.

Yeah people can make their own choices and not be d-mb. Turn around and go home but I have a meeting in 20 minutes and my commute is longer than that. I am not ignoring my coworkers to make a point. They didn’t create this problem.

Ok, makes sense, but what did you do to prevent it from happening the next time you go into the office?

Let me see . . . The CEO comes up with a plan that cannot be implemented with the RE situation as it is. You think that is OK because he's the boss and therefore we should all just fall into line. What is wrong with you?

You’re going to have to sit on on each others laps. It’s good for your DEI goals too.

got a picture today in teams of people sitting in hallways as they were out of space are our local COE.

What building and floor?
Okay, those folks should be let go immediately for being so d-mb for hanging around the office when there is no seat. Take a photo, call your manager andnform him / her of the issue, send your manager the photo and go back home.

Bring a folding chair and camp table for your laptop with charger and portable fan. Air conditioning may not work at your work location. Also a fully stocked cooler with ice and hot thermos in your vehicle for lunch/coffee break. Use a portable camp john for health breaks also. The buildings facilities will not be dependable. Hopefully you’ll be able to wash your hands if the bathrooms are not closed for failure to flush( common with poorly maintained real estate). Enjoy your workday.

If there is more employees then seats the easiest way to balance that is to get rid of employees. Do not expect thay will buy more office chairs to accomodate the crowd.

An actual desk, or failing that, add desks so we have one for 4/5 of the people required to be in the office 3 days per week. 4 or 5 days? You get a desk of you very own! Instead we will be wasting so much time playing musical chairs.

As a manager, what solutions to accommodate increased traffic are you suggesting?

GRE shows how many seats are in each building for drop in space. Of course this requires the company to understand basic math. You can’t always rely on that, ya know?
