Working for AT&T - worse than covid

I went to my physician to get a prescription for anxiety because I haven’t been able to function for the last 2 months since the “announcement”. Never took medication before in my life, not even Tylenol, until now. Was speaking with my doctor and he was shocked when I told him AT&T needs to find real estate in Los Angeles to have us temporarily return to the office there, however their two main hubs are now Dallas and Atlanta. He was shocked and asked “AT&T doesn’t have enough real estate!??!!” Oh, the irony! Please just tell us what the f king plan is already

I wouldn't have anxiety over any id--tic thing that T does. Whenever I get irritated, I just remember a hilarious story about an T employee years ago that was drinking in his company car on the interstate and then throwing out the empties. True story. At least you'll get a severance. They will literally pay you to go work for a company that sucks less hard.

You are on your way toward your disability scam.

Applying for some jobs now, and every one lists anxiety in a list of disabilities. They're already there.

Everyone in America has PTSD and anxiety over the last 2 1/2 years. No biggie.

No, not me. I just drank through the whole thing, and when it was all over... quit drinking, and feel fine now.

Collaborating and socializing with your peers will help alleviate the anxiety.

BS post. No way you've never taken medication. And no way in the way of the world over the last few years that this is what has finally given you stress unless you are the most self-absorbed person in the world that only something that might affect you personally has sent you over the edge.

I quit. Within 6 mos. lost 50 lbs, found a job that pays $65k more, healthcare for self & family with $5.00 co-pay, company car, $10k travel and CE allowance, Corporate Card,
free cell phone & internet and a great job.
Do I miss at&t? H311 NO!

LA is a mess. No space announced still. Bonus is that there a lot of marketing folks in LA and they are planning to do RTO right at the same time as iPhone launch which is a huge mess in the best of times. Also making other major cuts/changes outside of RTO that are driving chaos and tons of stress.

Best thing I or any of us can really do is apply out and hope to find something else sooner rather than later but it is not easy.

At least Jenn R. says you can’t hate who you sit next to so there’s that (maybe the most ignorant thing I have ever heard in over 20 years in the corporate world).

Covid is a non-issue for most people, especially the un-jabbed, so yeah, pretty much anything is worse than covid.
Pro tip for those who have to relocate: move into an equipment shelter at a cell site. Warm and dry in the winter, cool in the summer, plenty of electricity and great cell coverage. A little cramped, yes, but why should the cell technicians and crack-heads be the only ones to use them as a living space?

You’ve never taken a Tylenol? Are you an infant?

There is no plan. Just like Time Warner and Directv, they are making it up as they go along.

Working in the office will help ensure you get support from local coworkers. Isolation is not good when you have anxiety.

T is a utility company and needs a workforce that is resilient and can handle adversity.
